"Switched at Birth" season 4 ended last month with several cliffhangers.

In the finale episode, Bay (Vanessa Marano) received a call from an unknown character, and was probably asked to go back home.

At that time, both she and Daphne (Katie Leclerc) were in China.

In an interview with TV Line, executive producer Lizzy Weiss hinted on the two main characters' fates in the time jump.

When asked if Daphne stopped going to school, Weiss hinted on the possibility but said that everything will be revealed in season 5.

"All will be revealed. There's a lot of stuff that we're talking about, and whenever we're back on, you'll get our answers," she said.

Meanwhile, Weiss also talked about Bay and Emmett's (Sean Berdy) relationship.

In season 4, the couple decided to end their relationship for good. However, the executive producer said that it's also possible that Emmett only let Bay go at that moment.

"You're right that Emmett set her free for now. And what was really important for that moment, for me, was that Emmett basically apologizes for not standing by her with the Tank episode. He's just a kid himself, and he had his own set of issues and feelings when that happened with Tank," she said.

"Switched at Birth" season 5 will also reveal some details about Daphne and Mingo's relationship. Toby and Lily will also have interesting storylines especially now that they already have a child together.

"Switched at Birth" season 5 will premiere on ABC Family sometime next year.
