There are reports that the Android Marshmallow update will roll out for Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ by January 2016 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge by February 2016.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is all set to get the latest Android Marshmallow update in December. This news aligns perfectly with Samsung's earlier announcement saying that the device will get the update in the fourth quarter of this year, according to Android Community. The model number for Galaxy Note 5 which is slated to receive this update is SM-N920G.

Many rumors suggest that the device may get the update from Nov. 29, onwards itself. However, the South Korean tech giant has not confirmed the rumor. It is reported that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is going to be the first Samsung device to get its hand on this software upgrade.

The update will later on be released for Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Both of these devices were released last September, grabbing the market with full force.

Other older devices like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Samsung Galaxy ALPHA are yet to be on the confirmed list to receive this update. These devices are still waiting for their build numbers to get approved.

Android Marshmallow comes with many improved features for the devices. It brings with itself the support for finger print scanner, Bluetooth 4.2, an enhanced Wi-Fi connection support, and USB Type C support, according to BGR. It also makes the devices to run faster with minimum or no touch lag.
