"Finding Dory" had to recast Alexander Gould, the actor who voiced Nemo. Since the first film came out, his voice has definitely matured considerably, which let the producers to cast a sixth grader from Aurora.
As reported by Chicago Tribune,Gould was replaced by Hayden Rolence in the highly anticipated sequel. In the recently released trailer, fans got to hear his voice for the first time when Nemo and his father Marlin (Albert Brooks) were talking about Dory (Ellen Degeneres) swimming in her sleep.
The outlet reported that the second film supposedly took place six months after "Finding Nemo." This mean that they are still looking for a voice of a young actor, Gould is now 21 years old.
The sequel is reportedly set off the coast of California. It will focus on Dory's search for her family. Diane Keaton will also lend her voice as Dory's mom in the film.
"Finding Dory" is set to premiere on June 17, 2016.
In other news, Degeneres recently revealed that she has always been thankful to be part of the "Finding Nemo" cast. She explained that the project came at the lowest point in her life, around the time when "The Ellen Show" was cancelled.
"I hadn't worked at all. People don't realize that, because it took three years to do Finding Nemo," she told Entertainment Tonight.
Degeneres shared that after hearing her voice on TV, writer/director Andrew Stanton wrote Dory with her in mind. When the film came out, she has just gotten her new talk show "Ellen: The Ellen Degeneres Show."
