Bestiality cases are up in Switzerland. The favorite animal that Swiss perverts love to have sex with is the horse, according to a new report.

The New York Post reports that 10 percent of horse maltreatment cases in Switzerland involve people having sex with hoses, claims animal welfare group Tier im Recht. But it may be just the tip of the iceberg.

Tier im Recht believes the number of horse sexual abuse cases that are not reported to authorities are higher than what is reported because of the country's love for equestrian activities. The 20 Minuten newspaper cites experts who estimate that about 10,000 people in the country are presdisposed to zoophilia.

Switzerland has a horse population of about 110,000 spread across 18,000 Swiss farms. In 2014, there were 1,709 incidents of animal abuse in the European country, up from 1,542 in 2013, according to Tier im Recht.

Tier im Recht presented the data in a press conference that made a comprehensive analysis of the Swiss Animal Protection Criminal Practice 2014, according to the group's website. The number of animal abuse cases more than tripled in the past 10 year and was five times larger reckoned from 15 years ago.

The average fine for these abuses was 300 francs. However, the canton of Aargau's average was the highest at 500 francs, followed by the cantons of Zurich, Schwyz and Thurgau with 400 francs, the Basel-Stadt canton CHF 200 francs and Ticino 150 francs.

The practice is also known to happen in the U.S. The Huffington Post reports that 45-year-old Cirilo Castillo Jr. was arrested for having sex with a horse in February. The incident resulted in his breaking his leg while attempting to have sex with a horse. He had previous arrests for the same offense.
