Early this November, the tech giant already divulged the news about a plan to have Cortana available for iOS devices in a digital forum, according to Tech Crunch.

Users who were interested about seeing Cortana on Apple gadgets were asked to answer a survey regarding whether Apple consumers had a Windows 10 PC with Cortana installed to not.

One of the possible reasons why Microsoft wanted to know the number of people who had both Apple and Microsoft products was because the company wants to analyze the possibility of users utilizing Cortana to connect the iPhone to the PC.

Since the iOS version of Cortana is being distributed by TestFlight that is owned by Apple, only 2,000 people could test the Microsoft app at a given period. Thus, some users who signed up for the beta trial have yet to access Cortana.

Likewise, the beta model of Cortana for iOS devices already includes features such as the expected voice support, schedule management and alarm setup. Another handy tool from Cortana is the fast tracking of stocks, sports scores, product packages and flight schedules.

In terms of integrating the PC and the iPhone, Cortana could ideally allow a user to put a reminder on the PC and then have the iOS device give a reminder through the voice-powered support app.

For people who want to search on Bing immediately, Cortana will be ready to provide assistance. Other advantages of the Microsoft software include the ability to have an assistance identify restaurant details, movie and television schedules, and open other apps installed on the iOS device.

Back in August, Microsoft already had Cortana available for Android users.

Meanwhile, the Cortana Notebook menu has allowed users to search for Academic topics, according to WinBeta.

Cortana will be giving updates about papers and conferences focused on specific fields, aside from letting users know about the latest news related to a chosen subject.

Users simply have to update the app to be able to have the new search tool.
