Qualcomm is putting its new Snapdragon 810 processor in the newer variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which is expected to be available for retail in 2015, according to Samsung.
The leader in microchip manufacturing designed the new Snapdragon 810 processor for higher-end smartphones and tablets. The microprocessor, introduced in April, will be first fitted in the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 variant expected next year.
"You're going to get a peek into the future," said Qualcomm marketing head Tim McDonough during the unveiling of the Snapdragon 810 processor in April.
According to CNET, the Snapdragon 810 will deliver a significant increase in overall performance from the 805 processor, which is installed in the Google Nexus 6 and some current variants of the Galaxy Note 4.
CNET reports that the new Snapdragon 810, which is now a 64-bit double quad core processor, boasts faster data speeds, longer battery life and more support for 4K definition videos.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 might possibly see LTE download rates of up to 300 Mbps due to the Snapdragon 810's LTE Advanced Category 6 modems.
As for the mobile video gamers, the 64-bit processor packs the Adreno 430 GPU for better rendering of graphics with a 30 percent improvement over its predecessor the Snapdragon 805.
Aside from the new Snapdragon processor, the Galaxy Note 4 variant will still sport similar features to the original unit, including a camera with 16 megapixels, Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and the 5.7 inch display with 1440p resolution.
