A previous interview with Ellen DeGeneres and a recent Instagram posting of a throwback photo with Selena Gomez by Justin Bieber had fans speculating the two are back in a relationship.
The photo became viral with 1.7 million likes and 312,000 comments. However, Justin douses cold water on the speculation by placing a caption that reads: "Just a throwback calm down," reports Music Times.
The image was that of the two on a red quadbike. According to Billboard, the photo was taken in 2014 in Ontario, Canada where Justin grew up. The celebrity couple dated on and off for three years but split in 2014.
The speculation of their being back in a relationship was also further fueled by the two being seen together on Nov. 22 at the Montage where he sang "My Girl" to Selena at the piano. After the Montage, they walked in Beverly Hills for a few hours.
But Justin had not closed the door to a reconciliation with Selena. He told Ellen, "We have a lot of history together so I'm sure it could possibly happen. But I think we're both just on our own journeys of figuring ourselves out. Maybe once we do that, we can come together and make an awesome duo."
However, Selena told InStyleUK recently that she is tired of talking about her love life which she never wants to be reduced to a tabloid story.
