After a forced landing of the plane of "The Shawshank Redemption" actor Morgan Freeman, it is reported that the plane did not have a major damage.

In a statement released by his publicist on Dec. 5 via The Associated Press, Freeman said that neither he nor his pilot had been hurt. However, he mentioned that he could not say the same about his plane. He also mentioned that he was heading to Texas from Mississippi aboard his plane to shoot a segment for if the biblical comedy series "The Story of God."

Freeman also said that sometimes, things did not go as planned and a tire had blown on takeoff, which had caused other problems. The actor also mentioned that he was thankful to his "excellent" pilot Jimmy Hobson, as they had landed safely without a scratch. Also, the actor said he appreciated the concern and prayers for their safety.

Clarkdale mayor Bill Luckett, Freeman's long-time friend, told The Washington Post that the plan made what he described as a controlled forced landing just before dark of Dec. 5 at an airport in Tunica after it had taken off from Clarkdale.

Luckett also noted that Freeman's plne was a SJ30, which was described by the SyberJet Aircraft company as a "light business jet." According to Clarkdale's mayor, another plane headed to Tunica to give a lift to the actor, who was originally going to Houston.

Tunica County chief deputy Randy Stewart confirmed hat the plane had made an emergency landing and went off the runway. He also verified that there were no injuries and that the actor was not steering the craft. In line with the incident, an inspector would check the plane on Dec. 13.
