Here's how Samsung's Gear S2 will go up against Motorola's latest Moto 360 Sport.

The Samsung Gear S2 is available in three versions. The first version, called the Gear S2 Classic, comes in black and leather straps. The second version, simply called the Gear S2, comes with a slightly larger body, Samsung's Exynos 3250 chipset inside, and a 250 mAh battery.

The third version supports 3G connectivity and comes in silver or dark grey. This model packs a MSM8x26 chipset, and a larger 300 mAh battery, according to Samsung.

These models sport 1.2-inch circular sAMOLED display screens with 360 x 360 pixel resolutions (302dpi). All run on the Tizen operating system and pack 512MB of RAM and up to 4GB of built-in memory storage. In terms of the design, these smartwatches sport stainless steel bodies with dust and water resistance capability (IP68).

In addition, the 3G version comes with a GPS sensor and support for voice calling, texting and email. One of the unique features of the Gear S2 is its rotating bezels that allow users to switch between apps, among other things.

Motorola Moto 360 Sport

The Motorola Moto 360 Sport, on the other hand, is another version of the recently launched Moto 360 2nd generation. The Moto 360 Sport is designed for active people, fitness enthusiasts and athletes.

The smartwatch sports a durable design with dust and water resistance capability (IP67), and a strong silicone construction that prevents it from staining, according to Motorola.

Specs-wise, the Moto 360 Sport comes with a 1.37-inch IPS LCD display screen with a 360 x 325 pixel resolution. It runs on the Android Wear OS and packs Qualcomm's MSM8926 Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM, up to 4GB of internal memory as well, and a 300 mAh battery.
