Tom Holland shared his thoughts about the critics about him as the new Spider-Man of Marvel's Cinematic Universe.

Some fans objected and criticized the actor's casting due his young age for Spider-Man's role. In his interviw with Variety at the premiere of Ron Howard's "In the Heart of the Sea", Holland said that everyone was entitled to their own opinion and it just gave him more motivation to provethem wrong when he did start shooting the film.

In his interview with Bleeding Cool, Holland also said that Jon Watts' upcoming solo "Spider-Man" reboot was not "The Dark Knight."" he added that the film is more than an epic thing, since it follows a boy and his life while being surrounded by incredible things. The young actor said that they were going to try to make everyone relation to Peter Parker and Hughs was a perfect example for that.

Director Howard also gave his word on the young actor's performance. In the same interview, the "In the Heart of the Sea" filmmaker said that Holland had the best qualities, describing the "Spider-Man" actor as "energetic," "charismatic," and impressive, along with his "strong work ethic."

Holland is set to debut Spider-Man in Marvel's Cinematic Universe in Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's "Captain America: Civil War" before his appearance for teh webslinger's solo adventure in Watts' "Spider-Man" reboot. Until now, Marvel remains silent on the Spider-Man's role in the Russos' film, so fans expect that superhero makes large impact to the film.

"Captain America: Civil War" follows the clash between Captain America and Iron Man following the release of the Sokovian Accords. The two Avengers form their own factions, with Captain America joined by The Winter Soldier, Falcon, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, and Agent 13, while Iron Man is joined by War Machine, Black Widow, Vision, and Black Panther.

Spider-Man's side in the film is yet to be revealed while Scarlet Witch is said to be a wild card, according to previous reports.

The Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 6, 2016 while Watts' "Spider-Man" reboot premieres on July 28, 2017.
