Yahoo Mail has expanded by including Gmail and Google Apps accounts on its umbrella inbox and service.

Its Mail app allows users to integrate their entire Gmail account into the webmail service, enabling them to search and find attachments. Now, it can access the entire Gmail archive, searching everything across both email accounts in one place. The feature joins similar support for Hotmail, Outlook and AOL, but is clearly far more useful, because Gmail.

The Sunnyvale, California-based search engine company guarantees that importing emails from GMail, users can take advantage of Yahoo’s search capabilities, Users are able to search and analyze the entire history of emails no matter how long ago it was, according to PC Mag

Additionally, the contacts will be incorporated into Yahoo Mail’s smart address book, powered by its Xobni acquisition, Venture Beat reported. Users can also leverage its rich compose feature and a Yahoo Account Key that does not require to remember a password, a phone will do. 

Email users who want to connect their Mail account with Gmail can go into their Account Settings in the Yahoo Mail mobile app or on the desktop. This feature is now available.

Yahoo can be the central repository of your photos, joke threads, ecommerce receipts, emails, and more. It believes that it can offer consumers a better experience in looking at all your emails in an organized way, including not just the actual message, but referencing attachments and contacts that the system intelligently include.

The search engine giant remains one of the top service email providers, competing in a crowded space. Yahoo wants to be perceived as being a universal database containing user information.

The company hopes that with this addition, it can draw more users to its email service so that they can experience Yahoo’s search capabilities within Mail and discover that it just works.
