With battle of vibranium set to rise in Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's upcoming Marvel Comics film "Captain America: Civil War," it is assumed that Captain America and Black Panther will have an even fight. Chadwick Boseman gives his answer.
Boseman plays Black Panther, with the alter ego T'Challa in the Russos' "Captain America: Civil War," prior to his appearance in Ryan Coogler's solo "Black Panther" film.
In his interview with Anthony Breznican of Entertainment Weekly, Boseman said that if one was talking to Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao, before Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, then Mayweathwer was going to say he would win. And if one was talking to Canelo Alvarez, before the Miguel Cotto fight, Canelo was going to say he was going to win.
Previously, Boseman revealed that his Black Panther suit was made up of vibranium, a mineral that is abundant in the African island Wakanda. The actor also disclosed that the suit had the ability to change its form while maintining its strength. In fact, being made up of vibranium allows his suit to absorb blows from another person's attack and just deflect it.
Captain America's shield is also made of vibranium, which makes it highly durable. In previous "Captain America" and "The Avengers" films, the vibranium shield also kept the first Avenger from being injured from a fall and it also demonstrated its huge defensive power against Thor's hammer, the Mjolnir. Such qualities make it at par with Black Panther's suit, as per Cinema Blend.
Black Panther also tracks Bucky Barnes the Winter Soldier, for a crime the latter has been set up, in "Captain America: Civil War". Though the Winter Soldier's metal arm also possess great power, its attacks may not be highly effective against Black Panther's suit.
Black Panther will also be seen teaming up with Iron Man, along with Black Widow, Vision, and War Machine. Opposite them is Captain America's team, which includes Hawkeye, Falcon, Agent 13, and Ant-Man. Spider-Man is also make his cinematic debut in the film; nonetheless, the side he is set to join is unknown at this point.
With regard to "Black Panther," Coogler is set to helm the film while "Amber Lake" and "Revoc" writer Joe Robert Cole is set to pen the film screenplay.
The Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 6, 2016 while Coogler's "Black Panther" hits theaters on Feb. 16, 2018.
