Besides topping charts, Justin Bieber's "Sorry" is in demand among celebrities in the light of the Miss Universe 2015 debacle on Sunday when host Steve Harvey called Miss Colombia instead of Miss Philippines as winner.

After the gaffe, a meme of Harvey looking like the Canadian pop star was posted by Bieber on his Instagram account. He captioned it: "Is it too late now to say sorry?"

On Tuesday, it was the turn of Miss Germany Sarah-Lorraine Riek to say "Sorry" to newly crowned Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach. Riek dissed Wurtzback on Monday, saying it was Miss France who deserves the crown and not Miss Philippines.

Riek also said that she symphatizes with first runner-up Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez for her embarrassment and adds that the other contestants - who, together with the global audience served as the fifth judge of the beauty pageant - did not vote for Wurtzbach, reports ABS-CBN.

On Tuesday, Riek backpedaled and apologized to Wurtzbach. In a statement posted on the Facebook account of Miss Universe Germany, Riek states that she did not intend to hurt Miss Universe and she is sorry the situation hurt the top two winners.

"This must have been the worst nightmare. She never intended to offend Miss Philippines in any way. She feels sorry for both girls. As well as for Pia Miss Philippines that she didn't have her real crowning moment," reads the statement.

The statement adds that Riek is happy that Pia, a half-German, won which, in a way, "brings the crown of course a bit to Germany as well."
