It was a crown that slipped from Pia Wurtzbach's head several times before she was crowned on Sunday night as Miss Universe 2015. Yet, even during the pageant night, she almost missed the crown because of a major error by the host.

A review of tweets by the beauty queen reveals that Pia may have predicted her victory in May. After Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao lost to Floyd Mayweather during the "Fight of the Century," in May in Las Vegas, she tweeted: "Kalma lang guys. Ako bahala. Babawi tayo sa MIss Universe!!" (Calm down guys. Leave it to me. I will make it up in Miss Universe).

That tweet was shared more than 23,000 times and favorited more than 34,000 times. But it also earned the half-Filipina, half-German beauty queen bashers who thought she was too arrogant to make such a prediction of victory, notes GMA News.

But Pia is not a stranger to bashers and critics some of whom found her desperate for joining Miss Philippines thrice until she won the crown to represent the country in Miss Universe during her third try.

Thanks to the gaffe of Steve Harvey, the emcee, her victory became not only a memorable one which ends 42 years of waiting before another Filipina wore a Miss Universe crown, but it also became a social media trending topic as netizens made fun of Harvey's mistake through tweets and memes, reports The New York Post.

Besides her fearless forecast in May, it seems the crown was really meant for her for Pia, who in response to a question from Ferdie Isip, a fan, in the Miss Universe official Facebook account why she would deserve the crown, replied, "Being a Miss Universe is a responsibility more than anything else. If you're chosen as winner, don't doubt it. It's your destiny!"

Not all the bumbling emcees in the world could change that destiny.

And to fulfill her promise in her tweet, Pia indeed made up for Pacquiao's loss in Las Vegas, the city where the Filipino boxer lost.

Because of her unforgettable win, her German surname has taken a new meaning as posted by Dez Galban who wrote: "If at first you don't succeed: You just won't be back. You'll be Wurtzbach!!"
