Actress Sofia Vergara, who is native of Colombia, consoled Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez saying that she is a queen anyway.
It was an awkward moment for Gutierrez when Miss Universe 2015 host Steve Harvey announced the pageant winner wrong. Harvey apologized and said that it is Miss Universe Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach who won the competition.
Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez ended up as the first runner up in the competition.
Vergara posted a photo in her Instagram with a caption, "La Reina de todos modos @gutierrezary #colombia," tagging Gutierrez.
There was a lot of talk about Gutierrez, some people said that she has an uncanny resemblance with the actress. Vergara, on the other hand, supported her fellow Colombian in the competition by Instagramming her photos. While many think that the beauty queen lacks two of Vergara's most famous assets.
Vergara is an avid fan of the Miss Universe pageant. Last year, the 43-year-old congratulated Paulina Vega by tweeting "Barranquilla!!!!! Miss Universe!!!!" to her more than seven million followers on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Vergara was back to work for her ABC hit series Modern Family in Los Angeles weeks after her 'fairy tale' wedding to Joe Manganiello in Florida.
