A new promo for "Teen Wolf" season 5 episode 11 will be released on New Year's Eve. The trailer will be revealed right after MTV's marathon of "Ridiculousness."
According to Variety, the network has decided to downscale its plan this year. Unlike in the 2015 countdown, where Victoria Justice and Charlamagne hosted an hourlong special at the Times Square, MTV has opted to have a marathon of the internet show "Ridiculousness" until 7 a.m.
The marathon will only take a break at midnight, wherein the new promo for "Teen Wolf" season 5B will be aired.
The outlet reported that MTV decided to do away with the annual Times Square special in order to cut costs. Insiders claim that the network is suffering from "diminishing viewership" on a night that is inarguably challenging for all networks.
Early this week, a 25-second teaser has been released for the second half of season 5. Most of the shots, however, were already part of the official trailer for season 5B.
Carter Matt pointed out that the new promo aimed to "freak the viewers out" in an attempt to hype them up for episode 11. On the other hand, some were definitely disappointed that it did not reveal more of what's to come. One thing for sure is that lives of the cast members are hanging in the balance, but that has always been the case since the first episode.
"It's creepy, it's dark, and it hints at some extremely dangerous stuff coming up in the near future," the outlet held.
