This 2016 marks the 20th anniversary of Pokemon Game Boy series on February. While the Pokemon franchise is expected to be celebrated mostly in Japan and the U.S., Pokemon series was reported to have sold almost 100 million in North America alone.

Hardcore Gamer said that Pokemon series including "Red," "Blue," "Gold," "Silver," "Ruby," "Sapphire," "Diamond," "Pearl," "Black," "White," "X" and "Y" have sold nearly 100 million copies in U.S. and the North America.

Way back the beginning of Pokemon debut, "Pokemon Red" as well as "Green" had been into an increased sale of 10 million copies. This selling was before the Pokemon entering into U.S.'s Pokemania. The report added that Pokemania in the U.S. even competes with Japan where the franchise originated.

Meanwhile, "Yo-Kai Watch," a Pokemon-like series is also increasing its sale as it now reached 10 million copies being shipped all over the world.

Game Spot said that there was almost 1.7 million units of Red Cat Team and White Dog Squad of "Yo-Kai Watch Busters" sold since the early months of 2015.

Also, according to the report that way back 2013, the first "Yo-Kai Watch" was released and became a hit in Japan. This made sequel including manga and anime to proceed, with the game "Yo-Kai Watch Dance: Just Dance Special Edition" became another hit for the Wii U as it was released in December 2015.
