Recent NBA trade rumors have developed that the Houston Rockets are looking to trade mercurial point guard Ty Lawson this midseason and one of the proposed scenarios is a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for shooting guard O.J. Mayo.

Hoop Habit's Colby Giacubeno suggested five potential trade destinations for Lawson and dealing with the Bucks for Mayo is his first proposal.

Giacubeno said that "the point guard position has been a sore subject for Bucks' fans" especially after the team traded away Brandon Knight to Phoenix last season and acquired Michael Carter-Williams from Philadelphia as well.

Knight eventually became one of the main contributors in Phoenix while Williams is still an ongoing project with an inconsistent jump shot and a turnover-prone game.

Backup point guard Greivis Vasquez had seen some time as a starter because of MCW's ineffectiveness. The 28-year-old Venezuelan has been solid in 16 games so far this season for Milwaukee, but an ankle surgery last Dec. 15 sidelined him indefinitely leaving head coach Jason Kidd almost wanting to come out of retirement and play at the position.

Lawson seems to have become one of the most viable solutions to the Bucks' point guard problems.

The former North Carolina Tar Heel NCAA champions is a proven NBA-caliber starter. He could immediately take that role for Milwaukee and "push the pace the way Kidd envisioned it" before the season started.

RealGM reported that are currently trying to trade Lawson "but the market for him has been minimal so far".

If the Bucks call the Rockets and inquire about Lawson, expect this trade to happen almost certainly before the February deadline.
