After his success with "Gangnam Style" hitmaker Psy, Scooter Braun has signed another South Korean rapper, CL of the K-pop quarter 2NE1.
Like Psy, Braun is not going to change CL's image just to fit in the United States market. In an interview with Complex, CL said Braun definitely respects her already as an artist and he loves what she has been doing.
According to CL, Braun just wants to "bring that out here and balance it out."
"It's not like I am going to sing a whole song in Korean like Psy," CL explained. "But I think it's a good balance. I want to represent Asian women in the right way. He wants to support that."
CL added that she is not going to change her image when she was in 2NE1, and while she is not against being beautiful or sexy, she said she has this "cool" image that she wants to keep.
While she is making her debut in the U.S., CL also said her group 2NE1 is not disbanding.
Some of 2NE1's songs have been featured on "So You Think You Can Dance" and "The Bachelor" and their album titled "Crush" is still the highest charting South Korean album on the Billboard 200.
In 2014, CL took to Instagram to share to her fans a photo of herself kissing designer Karl Lagerfeld and another photo of herself apparently talking to designer Jean Paul Gaultier at Paris Fashion Week.
On July 8, 2014, prosecutors dropped the charges against the group's main vocalist Bom, who was accused of trying to smuggle 82 amphetamine pills at Incheon International Airport on Oct. 12, 2010, The Chosun Ilbo reported.
