Shannen Doherty has been very open about her struggles with breast cancer. However, latest news about the actress' health condition has indicated that cancer has spread inside her body.
The former "Beverly Hills 90210" star made the revelation during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. Doherty shared that some of the cancer cells have already spread to other parts of her body through the lymph nodes. The actress stated that the discovery was made in one of her surgical procedures. She revealed that she is slated to undergo a series of chemotherapy and radiation sessions to help battle the life-debilitating disease.
The Hollywood celebrity also shared some of her apprehensions and fears. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer in early 2015 and underwent a single mastectomy operation in May. Doherty confessed that not knowing what will happen next has been the scariest part of her cancer journey. She made mention of potential future situations such as going through another round of chemo and radiations treatments, and if she may develop another form of cancer.
The actress commented that she can bear the pain and live through having her breast removed. However, knowing how the disease can also affect the people that she loves has been difficult to deal with. She also shared some of her uncertainties over the future.
The "Charmed" actress even opened up about her experience following her single mastectomy. She recounted an emotional moment when she was getting her measurements taken for a new pair of undergarments, as indicated in the same report. She described the fitting session as "traumatic and horrible."
Doherty recalled breaking down in tears after her mother visited her in the dressing room. She shared that she then ran to her car and continued crying in the vehicle.
Meanwhile, the Hollywood star has recently shared several pictures on Instagram that depicted her shaving her hair, Us Weekly magazine reported. The social media images have shown a six-step process where Doherty shared an emotional moment with her mother before cutting her hair. The final image featured the actress with a shaved head surrounded by her mother and two friends.
