Milla Jovovich has reprised her role as Alice in the sixth installment of the movie franchise "Resident Evil." The latest trailer for the upcoming film "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" has featured Alice's journey to Raccoon City and her final quest to stop the Umbrella Corporation.
Sony Pictures has recently released the promo trailer for the movie "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter." The film is said to be the final installment of the movie adaptation of the role-playing zombie game "Resident Evil," Variety reported.
Avid moviegoers may recall that the said franchise has already released five films in a span of ten years. The first movie installment was released in 2002, while the fifth film debuted on the big screens in 2012. The sixth and last film will have Jovovich's character traveling back to Raccoon City, the place where it all began.
The trailer features the model turned actress' impressive fight scenes as her character battles both humans, as well as ferocious looking zombies. Some of the non-human creatures shown in the promo clip included a huge zombie, as well as a dragon-like flying creature. It also featured a quick look at the laser grid booby trap that has claimed the lives of many characters in previous movie installments.
Jovovich's Alice is set to confront the Umbrella Corporation's head Dr. Alexander Isaacs, portrayed by "Game of Thrones" star Iain Glen. Some of the movie franchise's former cast members have also reprised their roles in the film such as Ali Larter. Avid "Resident Evil" movie fans may recall the actress' character named Claire. The said character was featured in "Resident Evil: Extinction" and "Resident Evil: Afterlife," as stated in the same report.
Meanwhile, the movie synopsis posted at Polygon has indicated that the events of the upcoming film will pick up after Alice's last adventure in "Resident Evil: Retribution." Glen's Dr. Isaacs and his Umbrella Corporation forces are set to launch a final attack that will rid the world of its remaining human survivors. Jovovich's Alice and her team would be mankind's last hope against the said corporation.
"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" will hit movie theaters on Jan. 27, 2017.
