The latest "Resident Evil 7" updates will feature more gameplay details at Tokyo Game Show 2016 and more character information on Marguerite Baker.
Capcom launched a new demo of "Resident Evil 7" during the Gamescom 2016 event, which showcased more elements and mysteries surrounding the sequel's plot and characters. One of these characters is named Marguerite Baker, the wife of the antagonist from the "Beginning Hour" demo.
Gamers who have seen or played the new "Resident Evil 7" demo will encounter Marguerite Baker stalking the players as they control Mia as she tries to solved the mystery of the abandoned house before Baker caught her. For the most part, it seems as though the new "Resident Evil 7" demo is very similar to the "Beginning Hour" in terms of gameplay, except that it seems a bit more straightforward, and does not have any random, useless items like the dummy finger.
The new demo has something in common with the "Beginning Hour" demo is that the players will be reliving the experience of dead characters through VHS tapes, which will perhaps help them solve puzzles and survive in present time.
While Capcom's mysterious approach on "Resident Evil 7" is somewhat frustrating to many, for some they liked the idea of having the mystery well kept as it intrigues gaming fans to be more curious in terms of gameplay, plot and innovation, Gamerant reported.
Game producer Masachika Kawata and game director Koshi Nakanish stated that the main hero will be a "powerless" person in "Resident Evil 7" compared to the more experienced and battle hardened characters in "Resident Evil" franchise.
Kawata explained that in order to gain the proper horror experience to the gamers, the first person features of "Resident Evil 7" will make them feel like they are actually the main character in the story. They cannot look at the perspective of a "macho" hero character when playing the game knowing they are also scared in doing so.
When asked about who is the main character in "Resident 7", Kawata explained that for now they are not going to tell in full detail, but assured that the character is an ordinary person stuck in an extraordinary situation.
In other news, Capcom announced that more game details and a new demo for "Resident Evil 7" will be showcased at Tokyo Game Show 2016 event.
The Japanese video game developers revealed their line-up of games which include "Monster Hunter Spirits", "Monster Hunter Stories, "Toraware no Palm" and "Resident Evil 7", Attack of the Fanboy reported.
Capcom stated that "Resident Evil 7" will not be some sort of supernatural "ghost story" as anyone thinks as he confirmed that they are still sticking with elements of series, namely bio weapons and mutated zombies. For now, Capcom will not reveal any further details about it, but urge fans to wait for further updates for the game soon.
"Resident Evil 7" will launch on Jan. 14, 2017 for the PS4, PS VR, Xbox One and PC platforms.
