New details for "Destiny 2" will feature new planets to explore, a rebooted plot, PC version and a possible 2017 release date.
Several rumors are making rounds the sequel to Bungie's popular sci-fi RPG shooter, "Destiny" and it seems that the game will be available to the PC platform. Some from NeoGaf claimed that a trusted poster corroborated information, which he received from an alleged Activision source, revealed several details for "Destiny 2".
"Destiny 2" will be heading to the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms, and will likely not include the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles. This could also mean that the PC port will not be restricted by older architecture and there are also hints of cross-platform gameplay.
The post added that "Destiny 2" will be a totally different game separating it from the first game and its numerous expansion storylines. Gamers are expected to have new experiences in exploring terrains from new worlds, new enemies to fight and doing new activities, making the gameplay more interesting to gamers.
Bungie should make each planet unique and not reuse the designs of other worlds in the same location within "Destiny 2". Fans wanted to see more interesting places on the planet to expand the stages and explore more ground instead of being confined to a closed and visible area, Games Radar reported.
"Destiny 2" will introduce more active environments, insead of players going in the Tower or other social spaces between quests, they will be able to interact with NPCs and kick off activities in the active game world. One posts suggests that gamers are able to queue for activities, while still controlling their character, similar to "World of Warcraft", instead of going to Orbit to sit in matchmaking.
As for the plot of "Destiny 2", a huge story overhaul and new plot will focus on the Cabal and Saturn. The are new races and factions that players will see in the sequel and expect new enemies in each existing Darkness faction as well.
Lastly, "Destiny 2" will likely launch sometime within 2017 as Bungie and Activision pushed the sequel back from its 2016 release, VG 24/7 reported.
