After months of delays, Sony will start selling its PlayStation 4 video game console along with the handheld PlayStation Vita on March 20, the Japanese consumer electronics giant announced in a press release on its website Tuesday.
The PlayStation 4 will sell for 2,899 yuan ($463), while the PlayStation Vita will have a price tag of 1,299 yuan ($207), according to a report from PC Magazine.
The gaming systems were originally slated for sale by Sony in China on Jan. 11, but were reportedly delayed due to requests from the Chinese government.
The move comes after China's lifting of its 14-year ban on video game consoles, allowing systems approved by the country's culture ministry to flood the world's second largest economy.
Currently, Microsoft is sole foreign console vendor in the Chinese market, with its Xbox One consoles widely available in stores since September.
Sony said last week that it has sold more than 20 million PlayStation 4 units worldwide. The console's robust performance has prompted CEO Kazuo Hirai to designate it as a key investment target for the company over the next few years.
"We are so grateful for the enormous support from PlayStation fans worldwide, and we are truly humbled that gamers around the globe have continued to select PS4 as the best place to play," Sony Computer Entertainment President and CEO Andrew House said in a statement.
"We remain steadfast in our commitment to deliver unique and interactive entertainment experiences powered by the network and the PS4 system's deep social capabilities."
Along with the consoles, several localized game titles will also be made available to Chinese gamers, including "Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition" and "Rayman Legends" for the PlayStation 4, and "Final Fantasy X" and "Farming Simulator 14" for the PlayStation Vita.
