Moreover, Rudnick is a known comedic playwright, screenwriter, and essayist, The New York Times reported.
John, who admits being a fan of the book and film adaptation, expressed his excitement in working on the music for "The Devil Wears Prada" musical. "I'm a huge fan of both the book and the feature film, and a huge aficionado of the fashion world. I can't wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture," the singer said in a press statement cited by BBC News.
"The Devil Wears Prada" musical will be co-produced by McCollum; theatrical division of 20th Century Fox Film known as Fox Stage Productions; and Rocket Entertainment, company owned by John's husband David furnish, The New York Times added.
It will be based on the 2013 New York's best-selling novel by Laura Weisberger. "The Devil Wears Prada" also had a film adaptation in 2016 which was produced by 20th Century Fox and starred Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep, who bagged an Oscar for her character Miranda Priestly, the imperious editor of a fashion magazine, according to New York Times.
