It has been almost two years since Carnival Films and ITV announced the "Downton Abbey" Season 6 would be the last season of historical period drama series. However, fans still hope that the series will have a spinoff or a film adaptation.
"Good Behavior" star Michelle Dockery was asked about the possibility of a "Downton Abbey" film when she was at the red carpet of the premiere of "The Sense of an Ending" at the MOMA in New York City on March 6, Monday. She was wearing a David Koma jumpsuit, Christian Louboutin heels and an Aspinal of London bag paired with EFFY Jewelry rings and EF Collection earrings, according to Just Jared.
Dockery started by saying there is still potential for a film. However, such ambitious projects take time, she implied.
"It seems to be a challenge getting 18 actors together at the same time." Dockery told Belfast Telegraph. "I'm hopeful something will come together at some point."
In "Downton Abbey," Dockery played Lady Mary Crawley, one of the three daughters of Robert Crawley, the Earl of Grantham (Hugh Bonneville), and Cora Crawley, the Countess of Grantham (Elizabeth McGovern). The other daughters were Lady Sybil Crawley (Jessica Brown Findlay) and Lady Edith Crawley (Laura Carmichael).
Dockery played Lady Mary Crawley in "Downton Abbey" from 2010 to 2015. She joined the cast of "Good Behavior" in 2016 and since then, she has been playing the role of Letty.
On the big screen, Dockery is in the cast of the drama film "The Sense of an Ending." Written by Nick Payne based on the novel by Julian Barnes of the same name, the film was directed by Ritesh Batra and is set to hit theaters in the United States on March 10, Friday.
Among Dockery's "The Sense of an Ending" co-stars are Jim Broadbent, Charlotte Rampling, Harriet Walter, Matthew Goode, Emily Mortimer and Edward Holcroft, among others. Watch the trailer of the film here:
