"Grey's Anatomy" saw another emotional episode on Thursday night that was centered on Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).
After the shocking events from "How to Save a Life," fans of the hit ABC series saw Meredith mourning the loss of her husband.
Following Derek's (Patrick Dempsey) memorial service, Meredith decided to leave Seattle with her two children, only to find herself in another huge ordeal.
While she was away, Meredith bled profusely and found out that she was pregnant with Derek's second baby, a girl, which she will call Ellis.
While at the hospital, Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) came to Meredith's rescue and fans are now hinting on the possibility that Meredith and Alex may fall in love in the episodes to come.
After Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) left the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, Meredith has gotten close with Alex and she now considers him her "person."
Although Alex is not single at the moment, fans are already shipping the possibility that the two original characters could actually start dating and become official.
However, it seems that no such plan could happen any time soon, according to E! News.
According to "Grey's Anatomy" show creator, Meredith would have to deal with Derek's sudden death and would have to deal with the loss for as long as she needs to.
Additionally, in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Rhimes explained, "Now, Meredith and the entire Grey's Anatomy family are about to enter unchartered territory as we head into this new chapter of her life. The possibilities for what may come are endless. As Ellis Grey would say: 'The carousel never stops turning.'"
"Grey's Anatomy" airs Thursdays on ABC.
