"Scandal" star Bellamy Young recently talked about the upcoming fifth season of the hit ABC series. The actress also teased her character Mellie Grant's future now that she is no longer living in the White House.
Following season four's finale episode, Young spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and said that she does not know how Mellie will cope with all of the problems she has faced in season 4.
Now, in a recent interview with Hollywood Life, the actress said that all Mellie wanted was for her husband, President Fitzgerald (Tony Goldwyn), to be by her side when she becomes the new president of the United States. However, this will most likely not happen because in season four's finale episode, President Fitz reunited with Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington).
Meanwhile, despite her character's troubled future, Young said that she has always been grateful for playing the role of Mellie. According to her, Mellie is a gift to thousands of "Scandal" fans who love her and look up to her. The actress revealed that in the beginning, she did not really know what Mellie's story will be and whether or not she will be good or bad. Still, everything worked out in the end for her.
In other news, Young talked about one detail about her personal life that not a lot of people know of. According to her, she always suffers from migraine and this is why her recent partnership with Treximet became a turning point in her life.
The product is known for helping her deal with her terrible migraines in no time especially when it attacks during the filming schedule of "Scandal."
"Scandal" season 5 will premiere on ABC in the fall.
