As the alleged release date of the Moto G 2015 third generation draws near, several new leaks have surfaced regarding its specs, price and its IPX7 certification.
A filing picked up from Zauba shows that Motorola has shipped several units of the alleged Moto G 2015 to India. The device was listed as Moto G 3 and based on the specs included it has a 5-inch display, 8GB of storage space and 2GB of internal memory. Although Motorola has yet to confirm the existence of the smartphone, the filing posted shows that phone will pick up a retail price of around $130 to $240.
According to Techno Buffalo, additional hardware specs include a 720p display resolution and a quad-core Snapdragon 410 chipset from Qualcomm. The Moto G 2015 or Moto G 3 is also rumored to have a 13-megapixel rear facing main camera. And a 5-megapixel front facing secondary camera Based on earlier leaks, the new smartphone will support Moto Maker to give consumers the chance to add personalized design their device.
The IPX7 certification means that the Moto G 2015 will be water resistant.
According to Phone Arena, the Moto G 2015 will have 4G support and will also sport a microSD slot for storage expansion. The device is expected to have an Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with possible support for Android M once it rolls out. The phone is also rumored to have a 2,470 mAh battery.
Motorola has scheduled a press event on July 28 and many analysts agree that the smartphone manufacturer will unveil its latest device on that event.
