Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's "Captain America: Civil War" enters the big screen and Marvel Studios Head Kevin Feige has revealed if fans will see Wasp in Marvel's first superhero film under its Phase Three.
In his interview with Cinema Blend at the Los Angeles press day for Peyton Reed's "Ant-Man," Feige revealed that Wasp will not be seen in the Russo's upcoming film, as "Captain America: Civil War" will involve several things and fans have just explored "Ant-Man" with its release.
The Marvel head also mentioned that the studio's executives and producers do not want Wasp to become "moment amongst moments," while it would be interesting to see another female superhero along with Scott Lang.
Evangeline Lilly, who is playing Hope Van Dyne in Reed's "Ant-Man" also told Cinema Blend that Marvel had an initial plans for Wasp, which have been discarded. However, Lilly added that while the original ideas for Wasp have been taken out from the big scene, the studio is setting up new concepts for the female superhero.
Feige said the studio is still deciding whether Wasp is going to be seen in action in a solo "Ant-Man" film or as a more impactful character in Marvel's future films. He told Zap2it that he has no idea yet on when an "Ant-Man 2" can be plotted in Marvel's timeline; however, he added that if there is an overpowering reason to pin a sequel in the timeline, the studio will figure it out.
With the Marvel head's revelation that Wasp will not be joining Ant-Man in the Joe and Anthony's "Captain America: Civil War," it can be assumed that the female superhero may have a role in the upcoming two-part film "Avengers: Infinity War."
Joe and Anthony's "Captain America: Civil War" is slated to hit theaters on May 6, 2016 while Reed's "Ant-Man" is showing in theaters.
