After the release of Android 5.1 Lollipop in the United States in July, the update is now rolling out for users across the globe.
Graham Wheeler who is the Product and Service Director at HTC tweeted that the HTC One M9 users in the European regions, the African countries and the Middle East can now update their devices to the Android 5.1 Lollipop update starting from Aug. 4, Android Central reported. It will be available as OTA (over-the-air) update for the aforementioned regions.
Since the Android 5.1 changelog has not been made available for HTC One M9, it is not sure what new features and improvements will arrive with it. However, it is expected to fix all the bugs and issues that came along with Android 5.0 Lollipop
The Taiwanese tech giant had released the Android 5.1 Lollipop for the HTC One M9 Developer Edition users. In July, leading carriers in the United States such as Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile had released the update to its users. However, Verizon is yet to release the update for its HTC One M9 customers.
As of this writing, it is not known when the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will be made available for HTC One M9 users. However, the Senior Global Online Communications Manager for HTC Corp, Jeff Gordon had proclaimed on Twitter that the Android M will be hitting several HTC handsets including the HTC One M9 and the HTC One M9+, the International Business Times reported.
The Android M is confirmed for HTC One M9 users. Hence, speculations are rife that the Taiwanese tech giant may roll out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update very soon for the users of 2015's flagship before the Android M is officially made available.
