"Scream Queens" season 1 fans may have noticed Chanel No. 3 wearing earmuffs throughout the entire two-hour premiere on Tuesday night.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, series co-creator Brad Falchuk revealed that there is a reason why Chanel No. 3 is covering her ears.
"There is a very specific reason why she wears them, and you find out either in episode six or seven. We find out why she wears earmuffs, but it's not just fashion. It's necessity," he said.
Meanwhile, Falchuk revealed that the character's earmuffs originally did not mean that much to the series. However, as their brainstorming sessions progressed, they realized that it could make up for a good storyline.
"The funny with that is that it didn't start as a necessity. It started as fun, and then once we had them and it looked great, it was like, 'Oh, we've got to give a good reason for it.' So we put it in there," he explained.
Meanwhile, Billie Lourd, the actress who plays Chanel No. 3 recently spoke with Yahoo News to reveal that wearing earmuffs on set is not a joke.
"I wear them, like, 16 hours a day, and it is super-superhot in New Orleans. So it is uncomfortable for sure. I had one hairstyle where my hair was braided over the earmuffs so I couldn't take them off all day. I had to give myself a deep ear massage after. You know what it feels like? That's my life," she said.
"Scream Queens" season 1 airs Tuesday nights on FOX.
