"Once Upon A Time" season 5 premiere saw Emma (Jennifer Morrison) changing into the Dark One. Emma is transported to Camelot as the crew struggle their way to Camelot.
By the end of episode premiere, the Dark One has met with Merida (Amy Manson) and her loved ones including Charming (Josh Dallas), Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin), Regina (Lana Parrilla), Henry (Jared S. Gilmore), and Hook (Colin O'Donoghue). Emma also meets King Arthur of Camelot.
The finale scene of season 5 premiere shows the crew coming back to Storybrooke after six weeks with their memories lost and Emma successfully turns to the dark side. Everyone on the crew is dressed in regional outfit, showing that events have transpired, and the Dark One vows to destroy their lives for what they have done.
Apparently, the show will take viewers back to the six jumped weeks through the first half of season 5. The latest promo for episode 2 reveals that something bad is eminent in Storybrooke, but Regina is having difficulties to muster up her power after turning into the good one.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Regina will become the hero of the show as Emma steps into the dark side. Parrilla told the publication about her character.
She said, "It's really her journey of exploring that. It's an immense amount of responsibility. We'll see her evolving into this role and we'll see where she ends up."
On the other hand, fans will learn more about Rumple as he serves as the voice of the Dark One. Showrunner Eddy Kitsis told Variety that there is a different form of Rumple. Viewers saw this kind of apparition in Rumple's head form.
The show will explore what will happen with Mr. Gold who happens to be in Storybrooke. Kitsis added, "We'll explore this season the mythology of The Dark Ones and who they are and who they were."
"Once Upon A Time" season 5 episode 2 airs on Oct. 4, Sunday at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
