For more than 10 years, fans have been wondering on whether there will ever be the second installment for the original movie, "The Incredibles." As it is tradition with Disney, the production company has remained secretive about the plot of the upcoming movie, leaving fans to have speculation about the version of "The Incredibles 2."

Among the many speculations is one regarding Jack-Jack, who was still an infant and his powers were only unveiled in the last few minutes of the original film.

Seemingly, in the second installment, Jack-Jack will turn out to be the most powerful member of his family. However, in "The Incredibles 2," this character will only be 12 years and he may not have leverage over his powers to the extent that he will be susceptible to Syndrome's strategy to turn Jack-Jack against his own family.

According to 411 Mania, although theories are still very much unconfirmed, director Bird has explained why it has taken the development team for the upcoming sequel. Bird's concern is the current trend of milking a product for what it is worth - something that he would not wish for "The Incredibles."

He said, "There's another worrying trend that if you make a successful movie then you have to go on and follow it up, or you're leaving money at the table and I hate that mentality. You know, a film like E.T., if it were made nowadays I think there would be E.T 2 and 3 and 4 and they'd beat it into the ground, instead of letting it be the wonderful standalone film that it is."

The director further unveiled that the cast and crew for the next movie have almost great anticipation of topping the original, particularly given that part 2 would no longer have the crutch of introducing each character and their powers.

Although there is no official announcement for the release date,  production team director Josh Hollander said during 3DCreative Summit in London that the time in developing the film will be a lot faster this time because of technological advancements, Screen Daily reported.
