Writer-producer David Goyer has shared his thoughts on why an older Batman was not a big deal in Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
In his interview with Cinema Blend to talk about his career and his adventure fantasy television series "Da Vinci's Demons," Goyer said that he did not think having an older Batman was a restriction, but it was a choice. He added that there was a different choice than some of the earlier cinematic incarnations and it came with its own limitations, however, it was its own chance to create something different.
Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" would be special among other "Batman" film adaptations, according to Cinema Blend. Fans had seen a number of "Batman" films over the years; however, Snyder's upcoming film was special because it had been influenced by Frank Miller's legendary book "The Dark Knight Returns," which follows an older Bruce Wayne in his final mission as the Dark Knight.
While Wayne is in a retirement age in Miller's book, Snyder and Goyer had opted to stretch the storyline, which had resulted to the Dark Knight's future films in DC's Cinematic Universe. In fact, Batman is one of the key elements behind the large production cost, which reportedly labels the film as the most expensive film in history, as per Screen Rant.
Directed by Snyder, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will lead to the rise of the superhero team Justice League. Aside from Eisenberg, the film also stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, and Amy Adams, among others.
Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set to be aired in two separate teasers on Oct. 26 while the film is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Mar. 25, 2016. Meanwhile, Goyer's "Da Vinci's Demons" is set to air on Oct. 24.
