After the midseason premiere of “Suits” season 5 aired last Wednesday, January 27, fans of the hit legal drama finally found out what happened to Mike (Patrick J Adams) following that unexpected arrest. The latest spoilers revealed that things are going to get much worse moving forward.
Speaking to Collider, Sara Rafferty (Donna Paulsen) revealed that the cast was thrilled when they found out that they are finally going to address the repercussions of Mike committing fraud. She admitted that some are getting tired of how Mike was able to keep the charade for as long as he had.
Rafferty added that Mike's arrest definitely affected everyone in the firm. She said that things may only start to get worse from here.
"It's going to get really dark. It pulls everybody apart 'cause everybody is at risk," she said.
Rafferty shared that her character still believes that Harvey (Gabriel Macht) can eventually get them out of this mess. She admitted that her character may not understand the implications of Mike's actions. In "Suits" season 5 episode 11, titled "Blowback," when Louis (Rick Hoffman) told her that Mike has been arrested for fraud, instead of hiding to protect herself, she insisted on seeing Mike to see how she can help him.
Later in the episode, she repeatedly told Rachel (Meghan Markle) that everything is going to be alright, adding that Harvey is going to fix it. Rafferty shared that Donna believes that, no matter what happens, Harvey is going to "make it right." Things may be tough right now, but she knows that she can count on Harvey.
The actress, however, hinted that Anita Gibbs (Leslie Hope) will stop at nothing to gather evidence to put Harvey and Mike behind bars. Although Donna is willing to do anything to help them win the case, it was said that the prosecutor is going to use her family to get under Donna's skin.
"Once they drag her family into it, that's an Achilles heel for her. That makes her question things. That goes to a deeper level. The fact that Anita Gibbs goes there, what a b*tch!"
