Lady Gaga kicked off the Super Bowl 50 with an amazing rendition of the "Star-Spangled Banner" Sunday night, Feb. 7, at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. She is the first artist to ever perform a trio of performances in the same year - The Super Bowl 50, the 88th Grammy Awards scheduled to air on Feb. 15 and the Oscars 2016 on Feb. 28.

Gaga was reportedly wearing a custom Gucci Red Lurex suit by Alessandro Michele with red, white and blue high heeled platform shoes; heavy red eye shadow and fingernails painted in blue to show off her bold but patriotic style. She gave a stellar performance of the national anthem backed with just a piano accompaniment and an Air Force jets flyover finale while thumping her chest (similar to a Celine Dion chest pound manner) that left the crowd with goose bumps.

In a recent video interview with NFL media analyst Nate Burleson, Lady Gaga confessed that singing in a major sporting event has always been her childhood dream and the super bowl is the ultimate sporting event so she considers singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl is "the highest honor of her career." When asked about whether there was any memorable iconic performance of the national anthem that comes to her mind, she quickly said Whitney Houston's version.

Aside from singing 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at the Super Bowl 50, Lady Gaga will make a mark in history as the first artist to perform a trio performance in February of the same year. Gaga has been booked to perform at the Grammys long before David Bowie's death and had to adapt a new tribute version since Bowie's passing, NME reported.

To complete her trio performance, Lady Gaga is also nominated for the Best Original Song award at the Oscars for co-writing "Til It Happens to You" with Diane Warren for a documentary film, 'The Hunting Ground.' She is expected to sing again this year but, will she surpass her 'Sound of Music' medley performance that got her a standing ovation and impressed Julie Andrews last year?
