After a five-month hiatus, "Rizzoli & Isles" Season 6 will be returning with a back-to-back episode on Tuesday, February 16, titled "Hide and Seek" and "Murderjuana." In January, TNT confirmed that the series will be cancelled after season 7.

According to the official synopsis for "Rizzoli & Isles" season 6, episode 13 will focus on Jane (Angie Harmon) and the team's effort to save Maura (Sasha Alexander) from her kidnappers. Maura, on the other hand, will end up discovering a much bigger conspiracy, with Jane being its ultimate target.

Episode 13 "Hide and Seek" will immediately be followed by episode 14 "Murderjuana," which will follow Jane and Maura as they try to solve a new case involving a robbery.

"A security guard foils a robbery when he kills one of the robbers, despite being wounded himself. Jane and Maura work together to solve the case after the search for the robber's accomplice raises some puzzling questions," the synopsis read.

In January, Turner Entertainment chief creative officer Kevin Reilly confirmed that "Rizzoli & Isles" will be cancelled after season 7. The final season will air with only 13 episodes, set to premiere sometime this year. He added that both Alexander and Harmon had a "satisfying experience" working on the series.

Speaking to TV Series Finale, Reilly explained that they decided to cancel the series because it has "run its course." He explained that it was easier to pull the plug on a show that has been on air for seven years. He shared that everyone, from the cast and crew of "Rizzoli & Isles" admitted that they had a good run.

The showrunner said that they are just happy to be among the few cable shows that had more than 100 episodes.

"So let's go out when we're strong and not limp," he shared.

The publication reported that "Rizzoli & Isles" season 6 drew an average of four million viewers an episode, making it one of TNT's flagship series. In December, TNT also cancelled three dramas, "Legends," "Public Morals," and "Agent X" as part of Reilly's plan to revamp the network.
