A Chilean film festival is set to showcase three drama films from China in February this year as part of the Asian giant's role as the movie celebratory event's guest country.
According to a Xinhua News Agency report posted on Thursday, Arauco's Ficil Biobio Film Festival in the central parts of Chile would be bringing international flicks during its 15th year to be held on Feb 15-19, 2015.
Among the Chinese films brought to Chile is "Quancheng Gaokao," or "The Mark of Youth," which features the journey of four students who are preparing for a college entrance exam. It was directed by Siu Hung Cheung and Zhong Shao Xiong.
The Chilean film festival would also feature the 2013 Hong Kong-Chinese martial arts flick "Yi Dai Zong Shi," or "The Grandmaster," that tells the story of martial arts master Ip Man.
Also included in the film festival's playlist is "Tangshan Da Dizhen," or "Aftershock," the tragic film initially released in July 2010 that showcases the story of how residents of Tangshan thrived after the massive earthquake in 1976.
Aside from the films which would be shown to the public for free through outdoor screenings in Concepcion, Canete and Lebu, the Ficil Biobio Film Festival would also feature several events that would showcase China's culture all over the South American country.
In 1999, Chile has experienced the Ficil Bibio Film Festival for the very first time and was deemed one of the country's largest film festivals, coming third only to the festivals held in Valdivia and Vina del Mar.
