"The Blacklist" season 3 episode 15 titled "Drexel" sees Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) and Elizabeth "Liz" Keen (Megan Boone) in trouble again.
The past two years have been very difficult for the former couple. The two struggled with betrayals, kidnappings, pregnancy issues, and murder, although they somehow managed to calm the storm far much better than anyone could have expected. However, last week saw Tom being shot and fighting for his life.
Liz and Red (James Spader) are tracking down a nefarious killer in the upcoming episode, but fans should get ready for "quite the tearjerker."
A synopsis from NBC via Carter Matt reads, "After the founder of a successful Internet start-up is found dead, Red recognizes the crime scene as the work of a notorious killer. Liz and the task force work with Red to track the murderer through a dangerous underground news source. Meanwhile, Tom faces a life threatening situation, while Liz considers options for her baby."
The synopsis does not specify the main villain, but Gina told Melty that she is working with The Major. As a result, it is likely that The Major is behind the attempt on Tom's life.
Meanwhile, besides Liz praying that Tom survives, she tries to find out what caused the man's agony. The former FBI profiler confronts Red to establish whether he had something to do with the shooting, and Red utters words that will have viewers thinking he organized the disaster.
Red had been very outspoken, disapproving Tom as the father to Liz's child. According to him, Tom's irresponsibility and susceptibility to danger do not make for a good husband for Liz, or a good father for their child. While Red is correct, his dislike of Tom is not enough reason for him to critically injure Tom, according to Melty.
With Tom's life hanging on a thread and Red determined to keep the two apart, it seems Keen's romance will be central. While Red has a very different perspective, Eggold believes Tom has changed.
