“The Bachelor” 2016 finale may air a couple of weeks from now but multiple sources, including Reality Steve, has revealed that Ben Higgins ended up choosing Lauren Bushnell. It was said that he even ended up proposing to her in the finale episode. While fans already saw the connection between the two of them since the first date, a new report revealed that Higgins’ mom was actually the one who chose her for his son.

According to Life & Style magazine, the winner of "The Bachelor" 2016 was chosen by Higgins' mom, Amy. Based on the past sneak peeks alone, Higgins seemed quite confused on who to pick among the contestants. An insider revealed that when he narrowed it down to the three ladies, JoJo, Lauren and Caila, he did not know what to do moving forward.

In the end, Higgins asked for his mom's advice. The source revealed that Amy specifically thought that this one girl will be perfect for his son. If Reality Steve's winner prediction was true, Amy was talking about no other than Lauren B. Higgins reportedly ended up proposing to Lauren with the help from his mom.

"It was obvious to everyone who was there that his mom really made the final decision," the insider said.

This did not come as a surprise to fans given that Higgins has always been close to his parents. He would often call them on set of "The Bachelor" to catch up. Perhaps their approval, especially his mom's, was really important to the reality star.

Spoilers for "The Bachelor" 2016 episode 8 revealed that Higgins will take the remaining four contestants to their hometowns to meet their parents. Based on the promo, Higgins was not able to get all their approval right away. Most of them were dubious of his intention for their daughters, thinking that they will end up getting hurt.

After meeting her two daughters and her family, Higgins ended up sending Amanda home. While we have yet to find out his reason, multiple reports speculated that Higgins was just not that ready for such a big commitment. Even Amanda's family thought that Higgins was not ready to be an instant father just yet.
