The day is significant for Apple since it has a hearing on March 22 to discuss the possibilities of hacking into an iPhone to help the FBI and other intelligence agencies access information of one of the San Bernardino shooters.

March 21 is also important for iPhone fans because they will have a chance to lay hands on the 4-inch iPhone SE. The handset is reportedly different from the iPhone 5s except for the design. Furthermore, iPhone SE will run on a combination of A9 Soc and M9 co-processor, which was associated with last year's iPhones.

The upcoming iPhone SE will reportedly pack in a 12MP rear iSight camera that is similar to that of the iPhone 6s. Although the phone will not support 3D Touch technology, it will support Apple Play, Live Photos, and many other features. iPhone SE will be more curved than the iPhone 5s, and come in silver, rose gold, and space gray color variants.

According to 9to5mac, renowned analyst Ming Chi Kuo at KGI Securities said that the iPhone SE will come with a price tag between $400 and $500, which is cheaper than the off-contract retail price of the current iPhone 6 or 6s. it is also likely that Apple will cut the official retail price of the iPhone 5s in half during the event.

Fans will also have a chance to see a new iPad mode at the upcoming event. The tablet will reportedly be similar to the iPad Pro in terms of hardware innards and an Apple Pencil, except for the 9.7-inch factor.
