The trailer of "Ghostbusters" reboot was finally unveiled by Sony Pictures on Thursday, March 3. The preview of the upcoming movie was the first to be released, and it got everyone excited when the new all-female cast members were revealed.

There are parts in the clip that showed a couple of flashback on the original version of the movie, which was first released in 1984. Many scenes will definitely make the viewers recall a number of famous "Ghostbusters" equipment such as Proton pack, ghost trap, P.K.E. Meter, containment unit and many more. A shot of the old firehouse, which has been the headquarter of the first ghostbusters, was also shown.

Then again, despite the utilization of the same gadgets as with the first film, the reboot features updated machines, modern type of ghosts and much more slime. The trailer also introduced the new cast members composed of Melissa McCarthy (Abby Yates), Kristen Wiig (Erin Gilbert), Kate McKinnon (Jillian Holtzmann) and Leslie Jones (Patty Tolan).

Chris Hemsworth, Charles Dance and Michael Kenneth Williams are in the cast line-up as well to make the film more hilarious. Plus, some of the original cast, including Bill Murray, Dan Aykroud, Sigourney Weaver and Ernie Hudson, appeared in cameo roles to show their support to their blockbuster movie, The Telegraph reported.

Katie Dippold, one of the writers of the film, explained the reason why a reboot was planned instead of a sequel. "In the original it's so fun when ghosts unleash on the city for the first time. It's just such a fun thing, we didn't want to skip over it," Variety quoted the writer as saying.

As for choosing women for the main characters, director Paul Feig disclosed that when he co-wrote the script with Dippold, they did not have any specific actors in mind. After two months, he asked the team, "Okay, who are the perfect people for this?"

The director continued, "I was like, I've just got to get four very distinct personalities for this, and I know so many funny people, and especially funny women." Feig added that he just wanted the funniest people and the funniest ones he knows are the four women he chose for the film.

Meanwhile, "Ghostbusters" is set to premiere in Australia on July 14.
