Speculations are rife that the upcoming tablet Google Nexus 7 2016 may be packed with Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM and the latest operating system Android N. It may have two variants as well.

Google is planning to release a new tablet, in partnership with Huawei, being referred to as Google Nexus 7 2016, which may be released in May.

Meanwhile, the current Nexus smartphone, the Nexus 5X, was a major hit last year and it is now being sold at discounted prices, which indicate that a new Nexus lineup is on its way. The base model of Nexus 5X comes with a configuration of 16 GB of internal storage along with the Project Fi option. It is currently available at $199, and the 32 GB version is available for $249. These are the discounted prices, and they are rumoured to last only until April 7.

According to Digital Trends, Taiwanese tech giant Huawei is planning to release its own take on a Nexus 7 tablet as well. This launch is speculated to happen during this year's Google I/O Conference, which will be held in May. If this rumour is true, there will be two devices with almost the same configuration, and the same manufacturer. However, industry experts believe that this will lessen the chances of Huawei to make its own patent device a hit, as Google Nexus 7 is more likely to hold the better share of the market.

It is also reported that the release of the new Nexus products will accompany the launch of the upcoming Android N operating system. The developer's preview of this software is already out in the market. It may also come pre-installed in the upcoming Nexus line up and thus the devices could support split screen and the new settings app, according to BGR.

The next generation Nexus 7 2016 is expected to be inspired from the recently released Google Pixel C tablet. It may pack Huawei's Kirin 950 chipset and come with a screen display of 7 inches along with a screen resolution of 2,560 x 1,800 pixels. It may also be armed with an Nvidia Tegra X1 processor, or as some rumors suggest, the Snapdragon 810 processor.
