Network carriers Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, US Cellular and T-Mobile are expected to release the Android Marshmallow update for Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge+ soon, while Note 5, Note 4, Note Edge, Tab S2 and S5 may directly get Android N.
Network carriers T-mobile and Sprint have already rolled out the Android Marshmallow update for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. It is expected to come soon on the other network carriers such as US Cellular, AT&T and Verizon. Telus users in Canada have also got the update.
Meanwhile, Telus and Verizon network carriers have already rolled out the Android Marshmallow update for Galaxy Note 5, while AT&T has confirmed that they are in the testing phase and will rollout the update soon. T-Mobile is also expected to follow suit.
On the other hand, it is expected that Galaxy S5 will receive the Android Marshmallow update soon, but the release schedule of network carriers such US Cellular, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T is still unclear.
Network carrier T-Mobile has confirmed that it will roll out the Android Marshmallow update for Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5, Tab S2 and Note Edge; however, the exact release schedule is still unknown, but the rollout is expected to happen either in March or April. Other network carriers have not commented on the delay, and it is expected that they may jump directly to Andriod N.
In terms of design, Android Marshmallow is very similar to its predecessor, Android Lollipop. The Material Design language in the areas of the user interface might seem to be more pervasive than before, but the settings, notifications and navigation remain the same for Android Marshmallow, according to BGR.
One of the biggest changes in Android Marshmallow is the change in Google Now. It might seem to look same as before, but after the upgrade, Google Now is pre-baked into every area of the operating system. This means that it is more clever than before. Google Now's focus is not on being a digital assistant but to understand the user in a better way, according to GSM Arena.
