Although "House of Cards" season 4 just ended, fans of the top-rating political thriller series are now clamoring to know more about the series' fifth season. The fifth chapter of "House of Cards" is now shaking up the World Wide Web, with new details about predicted release date and storyline, characters coming back and revelations of ugly secrets.

The recent finale of "House of Cards" season 4 ended with a cliffhanger; however, rumors has it that the American political thriller will return to small screen with its fifth season on March 2017. In addition, "House of Cards" season 5 is reportedly the last chapter in the series.

"House of Cards" was originally adapted by David Fincher and Beau Willimon from a British mini-series of the same title, which revolves around a treacherous politician that is ambitious and hungry for power. Since the American series was adapted from the British mini-series, it is highly likely that "House of Cards" season 5 is the conclusion of the series, as the U.K. version ended up with five seasons only.

A Reddit user even speculated the same thing. The Reddit user, with a username of Santidreet, even wrote "My immediate prediction would be that the first episode of season 5 will be Frank's funeral. Multiple times in the last couple of episodes they mention his liver possibly rejecting and he gasps in pain numerous times. Seems like foreshadowing."

Meanwhile, other speculations swirling around "House of Cards" season 5 is the confirmed characters that will be returning. According to Hollywood Reporter, Joel Kinnaman, who plays Frank Underwood's rival Will Conway, will be returning to the fifth encore of "House of Cards," as he already signed up for some episodes of season 5.

Rumors also suggest that Neve Campbell's character Leanne Harvey will likely return to "House of Cards" season 5, as there was no conclusion yet to her storyline in the previous season. As for Claire Underwood's (played by Robin Wright) new lover Yates (played by Paul Sparks), although Frank Underwood (played by Kevin Spacey) gave his blessings to their romance, there is only fifty-fifty chance that Yates' will return to "House of Cards" season 5.
