"The Vampire Diaries" (TVD) Season 7 will not return until next week. CW's fantasy-drama series will return with episode 16 on April 1, Friday. The highly-anticipated segment is titled "Days of Future Past" and it has been directed by Ian Somerhalder, the actor who plays the role of fan-favourite character Damon Salvatore. After making his directorial debut in Season 6, Somerhalder is helming yet another episode for "The Vampire Diaries" (TVD). Expressing his excitement for his work as a director, the actor posted a photo on his Instagram account. He even teased that Season 7 episode 16 will "tug at your heartstrings."

"Working on post production of episode 716 that I directed. It airs FRIDAY APRIL 1st- can watch it with me? Let me know what you think? I know that you are all very busy but we worked very hard on this episode, to tug at your heartstrings..." Somerhalder captioned the photo. Scroll down to view the photo.

Meanwhile, the synopsis suggest that episode 17 is going to be heavy-on-action. According to TV.com's description for "Days of Future Past," Damon prepares himself for the sacrifice. After learning that the person who has a scar will die if Rayna dies, Damon attempts to transfer the scar to him and save his brother. But soon Damon realises that using magic to transfer the scar will lead to consequences.

In addition, Enzo tries to prove he has nothing to do with Rayna's escape from The Armory. While on his mission, Enzo has an encounter with Nora and things turn bloody between the two. They exchange some blows before Enzo makes a disturbing discovery.
