Fans were excited to learn that "Longmire" has been renewed for Season 5, but there was no news from Netflix concerning the release date of the show.
Latest reports indicate that production of "Longmire" Season 5 started in New Mexico on March 23. Reportedly, the series will pick up exactly from where Season 4 finale ended.
With Netflix remaining mum to give details about "Longmire" Season 5, fans have been speculating on what to expect. Seemingly, Donna Monaghan (Amy Walker) does not come out as clean as viewers and Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) expect her to be. In fact, Monaghan is conspiring with the intruder, who asked her to head to Longmire's place to distract him.
Walker Benjamin (Callum Keith Rennie) had always had great distrust and hatred for Longmire, and it would not have been likely for him to discover the exact location of Longmire's home from the hospital bed unless he had outside assistance from someone. It is believed that Monaghan gave Benjamin details about Longmire's address.
Following the success of "Longmire," the publishing company has increase the airtime for each episode in the upcoming installment, according to MNR Daily. While Season 5 will run for the normal 10 episodes, each episode will go for 20 more minutes, making the duration of each episode approximately one hour.
In an interview with Variety, Diamond Phillips said, "We were previously constrained to 42 minutes and as a result, a lot of my work hit the floor. With an additional 20 minutes, we can let those moments breathe and round out those characters and it's a much more cinematic experience episode to episode."
Meanwhile, there are rumors that "Longmire" Season 5 will focus on Longmire's personal life. Furthermore, the official Facebook page of "Longmire" shared a still of Vic (Katee Sackhoff) and Longmire, and it is believed that the two will end up together in the novel by Craig Johnson - on which the show is based.
In Season 5, Longmire will get to know Monaghan in a romantic relationship, although it is likely that she may be one of the bad people. As a result, the relationship will not go forward. It is speculated that Longmire will not discover Monaghan's true nature until the very end of the season.
