"X-Men: Apocalypse" will feature the "Weapon X" program, a possible cameo appearance of Wolverine and Proteus the next villain in the "X-Men" film franchise.

New details for "X-Men: Apocalypse" will reveal what role will Major William Stryker (Josh Helman) will have on the movie as the latest issue of Empire Magazine revealed that at some point in the film Raven Darkholme/Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Hank McCoy/Beast (Nicholas Holt), Moira MacTaggert (Rose Byrne) and Peter Maximoff/Quicksilver (Evan Peters) are being interrogated by Stryker himself in order to find Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Comic Book Movie reported.

The scene will take place after the X-Men's first encounter with Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) and his Horsemen; Archangel (Ben Hardy), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Magneto destroyed the X-Mansion. The four characters woke up in a holding cell. When Empire Magazine asked director Bryan Singer asked if ever Logan/Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) will ever appear in the sequence, he simply stated that Wolverine is not the "central character" as he does not "fit in" to this particular story.

Fans speculated that William Stryker in the "X-Men: Apocalypse" will likely create the early version of the "Weapon X" program since the while world is not aware of mutants and it with a mutant god like Apocalypse influencing each mutant to rise up and destroy humanity, it does makes sense that Stryker will indeed create the program to stop the growing mutant menace.

As for Wolverine, it has been rumored that Singer went back to Montreal last year to film extra scenes for "X-Men: Apocalypse" which will likely feature Logan. Although no proof has been given, they neither discount the rumors.

In other news, it seems that a new villain will challenge the X-Men once again after "X-Men: Apocalypse" as Singer wanted to have reality warping mutant Proteus in future films as he stated that the character has a lot of visuals he can use in the film franchise, Screenrant reported.

Proteus in the comics, is the mutant son of Moira and Joseph MacTaggert who has the ability to warp reality around him. Due to his dangerous powers he was confined in Muir Island and has a very possessive attitude coupled with his mutant powers make him a huge threat to the X-Men.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" will be showing in cinemas on May 27.
