Slightly comparable with "Pou," "Tamagotchi" and other virtual apps, "Miitomo" could also let users choose how their Miis should speak and act. Plus, in-app features such as shop, wherein one can buy accessories and outfits, and a game, where players could will exclusive prizes.

Meanwhile, Nintendo of America's Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing Scott Mofitt expressed his happiness for this Nintendo milestone. "With Miitomo, Nintendo takes its first step into the world of smart devices," he said. "Miitomo brings the special Nintendo charm and polish that people around the world love to an entirely new format and audience."

For interested players, one can pre-register for "Miitomo" thru the app's official website. Users should sign up for a Nintendo account to receive an email when the "Miitomo" app is ready to download.

Aside from "Miitomo," Nintendo is also set to launch its very own Nintendo 3DS and Wii U shop on its official website on March 31. The digital store will feature approximately 2,000 games that can be played on smart devices and personal computers, Nintendo announced.

Additionally, the brand new shop will serve as an extension of the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. With this, Nintendo is positive that it could deliver a more convenient playing and downloading experience to its avid users.
